Like A Bridge Over Scary Water

Friday
Friday I had to go to Canada for the day to visit a customer so it was a very long day. Getting there was easy, the coming back was a little scary as you not only have to wait in line for a long time to get back in the states but you also have to sit on top of this with about a million semi’s that weigh about eleventy million pounds so with every shake of the bridge, I’m about to crap my pants.

I’ve never been scared of bridges, and it’s not so much driving across them that scares me it’s the just sitting and waiting on one while you hover above water. Anyway, I’ve been on that bridge before and never thought twice about it but thanks to this, it was all I could think about. It was such an odd feeling too because the view from up there was gorgeous, so one minute I’m all, wow those trees by the water are so pretty! And then in the next moment, well I better enjoy that since I’m going down any second! I finally arrived home around 8:00 and much to my surprise my fabulous husband had made me steak, carrots and mashed potatoes. He also had every light off with only candles on the table. He got major points for that.

My Brother
Thank you so much for all your kind words. I’m so lucky to have such great internet friends! Mike is doing really well. After our dinner on Friday we went over to his house and hung out with him for about 4 hours! We had a lot of fun just talking. The situation ended up being better then he thought but the doctor still had to take care of a few things so he is sore. And in other news, he did not get “fixed”. That’s another post, but I will say it had something to do with our mother and just how she’s not the same anymore. Yeah, he’s not funny, but it was sort of funny. Since I didn’t have time on Friday to make him any “sick” food, I made him a double batch of chili on Saturday. And last night when I talked to him, it was already gone. Yes, I think he’s A-Okay!

The Bachelorette Party
I had a great time with my gals. Everyone was looking cute and fabulous. We started out with dinner here, and then moved on to a dance club called McFaddons. The MOH had set us up with $3 “you call it’s” until 11:00pm. I think the funniest thing I heard all night was when the waiter came over to inform us it was 10:50 so get your orders in. I told waiter Joe that I’d take another Mandarin and Sprite and Shelly leans in all Secret Service style and says, “Two! You’ll take two!” She had also ordered two, so when waiter Joe returned his hands were full!

As was the table.

The bride to be was out of commission by 11:30. We (myself and 2 bffs) were out of the club and back to our hole in the wall bar to end the night by 12:30. There’s nothing like a good beer at the local hangout with two of my favorite women.

Sunday
Eat. Lay on couch. Eat Watch Sex & the City’s because Grey’s sucked. Decide to yes, definitely remove it from my netflix queue. Eat. Lay on couch. Eat. Wash, rinse, repeat.

  • Where in Canada is that bridge? Or is that in the states already? Anyways, don’t you love how friendly us Canadians are? hee hee.

  • Look over on my blog…I’ve tagged you for a post. Participate if you wish. And I’m glad your brother is doing well. Talk to you later… :)

  • I HATE BRIDGES TOO!!! I sit in my car thinking, “any minute now this thing is going to collapse, and I’m going to be on the news, and my family is going to have to identify my remains….”

    Morbid I know.

I also gave up on Grays. Too melodramatic – not enough action.

  • my life is brilliant

Eek! That bridge is scary! There’s a bridge in Baton Rouge that goes about 1,000 miles into the air, and traffic on it is really bad at rush hour. When K and I were on our way to Florida, we just had to sit on top of it. If I lived there, I’d leave early or work late every day to avoid that mess!

Or I’d just jump off the bridge to save myself from having to live in the same town as LSU and, by default, its fans.
